As Requested by our highlighted Dogeared Mom, Rebecca Broncato

Rebecca Broncato
Age: 37
Hometown: Lyons NY
Current residence: Santa Monica ca
College: Oklahoma City University
Major: Dance performance

Daily responsibilities: wake up and make breakfast for my 2 year old, Amelie and my husband, Raphael. I make Raphael his lunch for the day and give him a kiss off to work. I get Amelie ready for the day as we head off to either dance class, music class or story hour. We spend our day learning about why there are two meanings to the word meat/meet or why a patch of grass is a perfect dance floor to perform her “new moves! She is the best companion and teaches me more than any other human being I know. I lay her down for her nap and I quickly begin to choreograph preparing for my job as a tap dance teacher in Malibu. As soon as the dance steps wiggle to the tips of my toes I make dinner for my family and off to teach my tap company. When I return home to my wonderful husband and sweet girl, I kiss my beautiful life sweet dreams!

What I wear to work: as a full time mom and dance teacher I usually wear a comfortable off the shoulder tee, pencil jeans or leggings, my spiked combat boots or tap shoes and I always have on my favorite Dogeared necklace that never comes off.

Favorite thing about mu job: everything!!! I love being a teacher to my precious child and to my fantastic girls at the dance studio. It is a complete honor!

I keep organized by cleaning up after my baby girl right away before it gets out of hand and a mess starts looking normal. Everything has its perfect place!

I always keep a snack in my purse because if Amelie isn’t hungry then I am! My phone and lip-gloss is always close by too.

My favorite songs on my playlist right now are ‘Locked out of Heaven’ by Bruno Mars, ‘Troublemaker’ by Olly Murs and Minnie’s Bowtique because I get to see Amelie dance to it as soon as it begins!

This week I made Parmesan chicken cutlets, Dover sole with tomatoes and capers and my mom’s delicious chili.

I have celebrated a couple of birthdays and showers these last few months with close friends and handing someone a Dogeared treasure is always the perfect gift! I have also seen quite a few people recently wearing Dogeared and we strike up conversation, which always brings a smile to my face. Not to mention the girls at the dance studio LOVE Dogeared!

I will send some pictures of my world.
Hope this is what u were hoping for.

A Day in the Life of a Mom

Age: 33
Hometown: Dallas, TX
College: University of Miami
Major Communications

I worked at Dogeared for five years. I was the Web Manager and Buyer for Dogeared.com I left two years ago to become a stay at home mom for my son Everett

Daily Responsibilities:
-Get Everett out of bed, change his dirty diaper, and Gage his mood. If he’s in a good mood we’ll have a great day!
-This morning he had dark chocolate crisps since I accidentally left the box out. I didn’t want to kick off 7am with a meltdown so I acquiesced.
-Next get Everett dressed and listen him to cry “no way” “no way” “no way” because he doesn’t like the little jumper I put on him. Give him a little pep talk and tell him to “own his outfit” and that he’s exuding self-confidence. Couple of high fives and he’s ready to go.
-Brush my teeth put workout clothes and head to the Y for a workout class. I’m still trying to lose that “toddler weight.” Once I’m in the class I’m constantly checking the door to see if someone from the nursery will tell me I need to get my son because he hasn’t stopped crying.
-After working out directly go the Grove to meet up with our friends. We walk around pushing strollers and window shop. We don’t dare try anything on!
Usually we’ll go there the LACMA, park, someone’s house, or grab brunch during this a.m. time frame.
-Grab a quick lunch and race home before Everett melts down in the car. Put him down for a three-hour nap.
-Start working on crafts for his upcoming birthday party, work on crafts for my Etsy store, make phone calls, walk the dog, start dinner and pick up my house.
-Once he wakes up and he’s fully rested its time start burning off that “boy energy. “ We either play at home or go to the park.
-By 7:00 the dog, Everett and I are by the front door waiting for my husband to walk in. Once he’s home I’m “off the clock” and start finishing any projects that I couldn’t complete.
-Everett goes to bed at 8:30 and I’m asleep on the couch drooling by 9.
-Start all over again the next day

What I wear to work
I usually will stay in pj’s if we don’t have plans that day. A busy week for me includes at least three showers! If I’m out meeting friends or going to play dates I typically try to dress casual. Wednesday nights are my “mom’s night out” so I definitely dress up! Sequin shorts, high heels, makeup, and the whole 9 yards! I’ve been crushing on this neon trend so I’ve been definitely incorporating it in my wardrobe.

Favorite thing about my job
Watching my son grow up before my eyes, hugs, lots of kisses, his little voice saying, “ I love you.”
